These are two works from a class on using collage techniques with encaustics at the Nevada Museum of Art.

Techniques used were:

1. Transparent image transfers – using toner printed material only the ink from the image was transferred directly to the wax with acetone.
2. Found objects – Magazines or other paper materials were adhered either directly to the warm wax or with additional wax brushed over top.

Other elements used were metal stamping dies, creating marks with tools, building texture from the encaustic wax, and moving the wax with a heat gun.
