The idea behind this book was to experiment with collagraph printing nad then use the collagraph plates as the book covers and the prints as the demarcation between the books signatures (groupings of folded pages).
Plate A - Inside front cover
Uses cork, fabric, yarn, paper, glue, a sequin and some carving into the mat board to create different textures.
Plate B - Inside back cover
Uses the leftover pieces from making plate A, a kind of 'anti-bird.'
Plate C - Outside back cover
Experimenting with the nature of the mat board plate, I pulled away only the top layer of the mat board, and the blue streaks are painter's tape.
Plate D - Outside front cover
This plate uses the under layer of the mat board again, cutting textures into the mat board, and then glue over areas to make them non-porous and repel the ink when printing.
